CLIENT RECEIVED ONE-DAY PROBATION TO A REDUCED COUNT OF MISDEMEANOR PETIT THEFT

A client was arrested after she was caught on video surveillance stealing a cell phone from a patron at a restaurant.  The officers assigned to the case were able to obtain the client's tag number from her car and arrested her and charged her with grand theft.

After she hired Erick Cruz to represent her, Erick made contact with the detective and prosecutor assigned to the case and returned the phone to the detective.  In return, the prosecutor agreed to reduce the charge to a misdemeanor petit theft and the client was sentenced to one-day probation.  Additionally, the client was able to avoid a conviction on her record.
