ERICK CONVINCES PROSECUTORS TO DROP CHARGES AGAINST CLIENT CHARGED WITH DOMESTIC VIOLENCE BATTERY

A client charged with domestic violence battery had his case dismissed after Erick convinced prosecutor to drop charges.  The client got into an argument with his wife and daughter.  The client was alleged to have pushed and struck his wife and daughter.  When police arrived, they saw the client purposefully crashing his car into a telephone poll.  The client was immediately placed under arrest and charged with domestic violence battery and criminal mischief.

The client hired Erick to represent him against the charges presented against him by prosecutors.  After tempers settled, the wife and daughter decided against pressing charges against their husband/father.  Unfortunately, their decision did not sway prosecutors who insisted on prosecuting the client.  Initially, the prosecutors offered the pretrial diversion program to the client, but Erick advised his client to reject the program and set the case for trial.  The strategy worked; on the eve of trial the prosecutors announced that they were dropping the case against the client.  The client and his family were reunited and are happy to have this problem behind them.

During his time as a prosecutor, Erick Cruz attended trainings specifically dealing with the prosecution of domestic violence cases.  Erick knows the correct way to investigate and prosecute these cases and more importantly how to defense against domestic violence charges in Miami.  Erick has used this knowledge to successfully defend countless people charged in connection with domestic violence crimes.
