Erick obtained the release on house arrest of a client police officers charged with attempted first-degree murder and burglary with an assault or battery after the client stabbed a man in his home.

The client and the man were acquaintances who became involved in an argument. During the course of the argument, the man and his son attacked Erick's client who defended himself by using a knife to ward off the attack.  During the confrontation, the man suffered three stab wounds to his body. Following the incident, during the investigatory phase of the case, the client retained Erick to represent him.  Immediately, Erick took pictures of the client that demonstrated the wounds that the client suffered, Erick also dug into the victim's background and found information that cast doubt on his credibility.

Erick surrendered the client to police and protected his rights by invoking his right to silence and counsel.  Thereafter, Erick was in contact with the prosecutor and disclosed to him the information that he obtained during the investigation of the case.  With this information, the prosecutor agreed to release the client on house arrest.  Best of all, this occurred before the arraignment and without the need for an Arthur hearing.  Erick is optimistic that the case will end with a complete dismissal of the charges.
